DCU partner spreads the word of CAPTAIN in the Irish scientific and research community

Dr. Louise Hopper presented at the Irish Gerontological Society’s (IGS) 67th Annual and Scientific Meeting looking at Innovation, Advances and Excellence in Ageing in County Cork. She presented ‘Engaging Older Adults in Co-Creating a Virtual Coaching Assistant (CAPTAIN) to support Independent living at home’ on the 28th of September, which resulted in a published abstract.

Research Assistant Joanne Carroll was invited to speak with the students of the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dublin and the 22nd of October and her talk was entitled ‘Finding Postgraduate Work: The CAPTAIN Project’. 1st and 3rd year undergraduate students were interested in the type of research being conducted in Cyberpsychology.

Ms Carroll also presented at the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) Annual conference on the 7th of November in Kilkenny. She presented “Help me do the things I want to do” – Co-production of an augmented reality system supporting autonomous living at home’.
