The CAPTAIN H2020 eCoach completed its maiden voyage (Final Event)

The final CAPTAIN H2020 event was sucessfully held on the 28th of June 2019, online via ZOOM, due to the restrictions of the CoVid-19 pandemic. Despite the fact that the event went on a virtual environment, over 25 participants attended on ZOOM, while more that 100 people watched LIVE via live streaming on YouTube and Facebook project channels.

CAPTAIN meeting with the advisory board

On 21st January 2021, CAPTAIN partners met virtually with members of the Advisory Board in order to discuss future directions of the CAPTAIN project. More specifically, Dr. Eva Kehayia, Associate professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and Koen Vervoort ENoLL Network Builder and Interim Director discussed with CAPTAIN partners about the COVID-19 impact on the project and the designed contingency plan.

PM-15 coaching alliance workshop on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic

The PM-15 coaching alliance has organized and ran a workshop on 29th October 2020 in order to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in projects’ activities and create a unified contingency and action plan. It is important to notice that all projects are reaching the end of their implementation period and the activities that are planned at the current time are based on user evaluation and testing. Given the discussion and insights from the PM-15 coaching alliance workshop, the impact of the pandemic can be summarized in 4 main axes.

CAPTAIN technical coordinator attends the final workshop of COUCH

CAPTAIN technical coordinator Evdokimos Konstantinidis presented the case of project’s eCoach for older adults at home in the framework of the Final Workshop of the Council of Coaches (COUCH) H2020 project, virtually held on the 8th of July, 2020, with the participation of more than 65 attendees from the EU, the US and Australia.

In a special tribute to artificial intelligence (AI) projects funded through the EU Horizon 2020 programme, the Irish Health Research Board hosts CAPTAIN project among five success cases, coordinated and/or implemented with the active involvement of Irish affiliations, addressing topics including - e-smart home assistants, care for cancer patients and attempt to reduce sepsis-related mortality in babies.

Workshop on Multimodal e-Coaches at the ICMI 2020 (Oct 2020) with the participation of CAPTAIN

e-Coaches are promising intelligent systems that aims at supporting human everyday life, dispatching advices through different interfaces, such as apps, conversational interfaces and augmented reality interfaces. This workshop aims at exploring how e-coaches might benefit from spatially and time-multiplexed interfaces and from different communication modalities (e.g., text, visual, audio, etc.) according to the context of the interaction.
