Trento Smart City 2019: CAPTAIN was there!

The 3rd edition of Trento Smart City week, supported by the IEEE smart city initiative, was successfully held in Italy from 16-22 September 2019.  For eight days the Piazza Duomo in the city of Trento turned into a Digital Village, which hosted over 140 events, with 180 speakers participating in round tables, workshops and public presentations to explain to over 16,000 visitors of what it means to be "A Citizen at the time of the digital age".

Sailing with NIVELY: Interview with Giuseppe Conti, Nively CTO

Could you tell us a few words about Nively partner? Nively is a French SME which belongs to the Waldner Group, and it operates in the silver economy market. Nively develops MentorAge(TM) a patented technology for the B2B market of nursing homes, which allows monitoring elderly people, identifying whenever a potential condition of risk is detected. In case of potential risk, the system sends an alert to the smartphones of nurses or caregiver. MentorAge(TM) is currently sold in France and Italy.

Three-day technical meeting in Thessaloniki on the progress of the CAPTAIN system

On the 6th-8th May 2019, the CAPTAIN technical partners met in Thessaloniki, Greece, in order to develop, test and integrate the CAPTAIN system. Nively, AUTH, Vicometch, Digiflak and Hololamp attend the meeting in person, while NViso and Salumedia were there through teleconference. The meeting was hosted by the Medical Physics Laboratory of AUTH, which is also the coordinator of the project.

Interactive visit to the AUTH Cast Museum for the Greek CAPTAIN community members

On the occasion of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, on 18 April 2019, CAPTAIN coordinator, AUTH, held a special educational/entertaining event to thank the members of the Medical Physics Lab AUTH "Collaboration & Research Community for the Independent Living" for their close cooperation and valuable help in the framework of the CAPTAIN sprints and other co-creation research activities of the Laboratory.

2nd CAPTAIN Sprint: live demonstration of user-scenarios, based on the CAPTAIN system

The 2nd CAPTAIN Sprint took place from 18-29 March in AUTH, DCU and INTRAS with the participation of older adults, informal and formal caregivers and in AMEN and APSS with smaller groups of clinicians only. A total number of 112 stakeholders attended the sprint events, held in the five pilot sites of the project, some 75 of which were older adults, 28 healthcare professionals and 16 informal caregivers.
