AUTH, INI and Nively partners on the eHealth Forum Freiburg 2019

Healthcare has an incredible potential for optimization and savings through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). At the same time, however, it is also one of the sectors that has not been digitized so far.

INI-Novation GmbH, Medical Physics Lab AUTH and Nively participated in the two-day eHealth Europe Conference on 24 and 25 May in Freiburg, Germany. It was held under the main topic Digital Technologies in Healthcare. Speakers presented various opportunities and challenges for patients, doctors, clinics and health insurances on topics such as electronic patient records, artificial intelligence and big data in health care, sensors and monitoring, hospital information systems and communication between those involved in the healthcare sector, or in general a patient-centred and cross-sectoral one supply control.

CAPTAIN_EU project coordinator Panagiotis Bamidis and technical coordinator and product manager of Nively Evdokimos Konstantinidis gave talks related to CAPTAIN project on smart assistive care at home for older adults.

Friday, May 24, 2019: Industrial fair and lectures

The Industrial fair included various technology topics, start-up competition (stage and offers for start-ups), technology conference in the area of ​​IT in healthcare, personalized medicine, and other topics of digitization in health, talent market.

On the first day, the Product Manager Evdokimos Konstantinidis (Nively) presented Enhanced safety and personalized care for seniors, where results and findings from the CAPTAIN project were presented.

Saturday, May 25, 2019: Doctor training and industry fair

The Medical Doctor Training and the conference on developments and innovations in the clinic IT sector, start-up competition, eHealth awarding, industrial fair (continuation from Friday) joined together mainly young people interested in the topics.

On the second day, in the session “Artificial Intelligence really handy”, Assoc. Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis from the School of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki presented “Coaching the seniors at home: usefulness and helplessness of advanced technology”. The topic raised the interest to CAPTAIN solution and several questions were discussed.

Digitization was the main topic par excellence at the eHealth Forum Freiburg. The focus was on the needs and problems of everyday care for the patients, as well as on the on digital technologies for the health care of the future. There, new ideas and products were discussed and creative solutions with experts from various areas of the health care system were presented and developed in practice. CAPTAIN project received big attention on the stand, where Nively demonstrated MentorAge as a part of the innovative CAPTAIN solution. Visitors asked question and received detailed information from the representatives of Nively and all brochures on the stand.
